My experience

My university studies covered the research of family and community history. I also studied ancient to modern building technologies.

I have personally researched at the National Archives at Kew, the London based Society of Genealogists, the Berkshire and Wiltshire Archives, the Scottish National Archives in Edinburgh, The State Library of New South Wales and The Queensland Archives  in Australia.

My research covered 18th Century  Naval careers in maritime records,  the advent of the Kennet & Avon canal system in Berkshire, non-Conformist marriages in Aberdeen in the mid 1800's, the First Settlers in South Australia in the 1830's and the adventures of a Geordie ship-worker who became a roaming journalist and later private secretary to various politicians during WW1 in New South Wales, Australia.
